A unified approach to incorporating demographic or other effects into demand systems.

چکیده
"A general method of introducing demographic effects into any demand system, using modifying functions, is described which permits complicated interactions of demographic variables with prices and expeditures. Theorems give properties the modifying functions must have to ensure integrability of the resulting system. Demand equations of the new system are given explicitly as functions of the original demand equations and the modifying functions. The procedure is interpreted as altering a household's technology, and is shown to encompass adult equivalent scales and related methods. Examples of modifying functions are derived and applications of the technique to uses other than demographic variation are considered."

Incorporating Wind Power Generation And Demand Response into Security-Constrained Unit Commitment
Wind generation with an uncertain nature poses many challenges in grid integration and secure operation of power system. One of these operation problems is the unit commitment. Demand Response (DR) can be defined as the changes in electric usage by end-use customers from their normal consumption patterns in response to the changes in the price of electricity over time. Further, DR can be also d...
متن کاملPERFORMANCE BASED DESIGN OPTIMIZATION OF STEEL MOMENT RESISTING FRAMES INCORPORATING SEISMIC DEMAND AND CONNECTION PARAMETERS UNCERTAINTIES
One of the most important problems discussed recently in structural engineering is the structural reliability analysis considering uncertainties. To have an efficient optimization process for designing a safe structure, firstly it is required to study the effects of uncertainties on the seismic performance of structure and then incorporate these effects on the optimization process. In this stud...
متن کاملAn Empirical Comparison of Performance of the Unified Approach to Linearization of Variance Estimation after Imputation with Some Other Methods
Imputation is one of the most common methods to reduce item non_response effects. Imputation results in a complete data set, and then it is possible to use naϊve estimators. After using most of common imputation methods, mean and total (imputation estimators) are still unbiased. However their variances (imputation variances) are underestimated by naϊve variance estimators. Sampling mechanism an...
متن کاملIncorporating Return on Inventory Investment into Joint Lot-Sizing and Price Discriminating Decisions: A Fuzzy Chance Constraint Programming Model
Coordination of market decisions with other aspects of operations management such as production and inventory decisions has long been a meticulous research issue in supply chain management. Generally, changes to the original lot-sizing policy stimulated by market prices may impose remarkable deviation revenue throughout the supply and demand chain system. This paper examines how to set the chan...
متن کاملA numerical approach for variable-order fractional unified chaotic systems with time-delay
This paper proposes a new computational scheme for approximating variable-order fractional integral operators by means of finite element scheme. This strategy is extended to approximate the solution of a class of variable-order fractional nonlinear systems with time-delay. Numerical simulations are analyzed in the perspective of the mean absolute error and experimental convergence order. To ill...
